It was a hard day in the office today. We’ve just caught Alabama Shakes live on stage at SXSW and they were mightily special.

Think of deep deep motown soul from the heart of the fifties and sixties and you might just be close to what Alabama Shakes have to offer.

Within about 5 minutes the room was crowded out and well deservedly too.  These folks rocked the room and shook up the soul.

Some of the media such as NME and Spin magazine have been praising Alabama Shakes in recent times and now we know why. Their live set is full of passion and a depth of soul that fills the room.

Awesome. Without a doubt, this band are set for great things and should be on your music radar….oh yes sir!!!
