I’ll start this review by firstly saying that it’s criminal that Stars are not given the same respect as fellow Canadians The Arcade Fire. Both bands were releasing records around the same time and I think Stars should’ve got just as much adulation.
Enough of my little rant. Lets get straight into why you should familiarise yourself and love Stars. One reason springs to mind instantly and it’s the track ‘Fixed’, taken from their fifth album ‘The Five Ghosts’. This track is a beauty. Another reason that also comes to mind is the very excellent Lights Over LA Remix of their track ‘Dead Hearts’. Awesomeness in a track if ever there was one. The remix takes this track into Death Cab For Cutie vs. Danny Boyle Soundtrack territoy.
I love Stars tracks but I do have a real love for the ones with lead vocals of Amy Millan.
