We’re very excited about our new discovery of the band Nimmo & The Gauntletts. After listening to their Young Light EP, we’re damn sure that these are destined for bigger things and if we were to write our watch list for 2013 now, we’d be putting them on it.
The EP was produced by Communion Record’s Ian Grimble, known for producing the likes of Manic Street Preachers and more recently, Marcus Foster and Daughter. The title track ‘Young Light’ from the EP is simple and simply brilliant. If you want a band that combine the sounds of Billy Bragg, Missy Higgins and Mumford & Sons, then Nimmo & The Gauntletts will definitely tick off your order!!! There’s even a little something in there that reminds us of the songwriting and acoustic brilliance of the band James.
Seriously check out this band and give each of their tracks below a proper listen as they’re outstanding. It’s getting bands like this onto your music radar that is what we’re all about here and as we said, we’re seriously excited about this one!
The band are going to be writing and recording new material throughout the summer and we’re looking forward to what quality tracks are going to be coming out way. In the meantime, get listening below:
