I’m pretty much worshipping anything that Maya Jane Coles lays her hands on at the moment.  Whether it’s her own material or the production of remixes for other artists (Ritual Union by Little Dragon remix anyone).   Maya Jane Coles is taking us back to the days of deep deep house and I for one am loving it.

Take the track Humming Bird from the EP released in 2010 and you’ll know what I mean.  This is deep deep house with a fantastic vocal sample layered over some quality hypnotic bass and drum beats.

So what makes Maya Jane Coles standout against other house artists and producers?  Consistency is the key and she’s got it in absolute bucket loads.  She’s such a quality standout producer, mixer, artist, DJ, etc… that she’s gonna remix and produce the pants off a lot of other DJs out there at the moment.

Maya Jane Coles recently did the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix (9th July 2011).  You should also check out that mix.  A quality mix.

Check out the track Contradiction which also features on the Humming Bird EP.  Again, there are some awesome beats but also a little bit of latino beats to boot too.  Listening to this EP just makes me want to go out and party or put a mix together.
