One word can be used to describe the new self titled EP from Elizabeth Rose….SMOOTH! We’re saturating ourselves in this on Australia Day and this 5 track golden affair couldn’t be better.
EP opener ‘The Good Life’ is a track that we are more than familiar with as we’ve been banging on about this track for sometime now here on YMR. It’s that backing stealth horn that we love in this track (a bit Kym Sims). ‘Out of Step’ takes us into new territory for the remainder of the EP but still keeps us loitering in R&B ville from the early 90’s. ‘Is It Love?’ could be a hidden track from a Janet Jackson album. This then takes us to the track we’re addicted to ‘Sensibility’ which from the clicks online looks like others are hooked too. EP closer ‘Only Me’ featuring VCS keeps the 90’s R&B feeling going and this 5 track set is a must have for 2014. Elizabeth Rose is one to watch in 2014.
