We have had ‘Axis of Time’ on repeat today. Baraka aka. Geoffrey Dean has put together a soundscape of a track and layered it with some excellent Amy Winehouse vocals. This is bliss.
This is a quite timely release too withe Amy documentary about to hit screens. Baraka has fused together seamless threads of electronic, hip hop, R&B and jazz on ‘Axis of Time’. This is taken from his latest long player Electronic Short Stories which gets released June 14 and from the audio evidence on show here, we like this A LOT. When you take a listen to ‘Porcelain’, ‘Pleasant Sadness’ and further tracks from the album, there’s a lot on show here that will fulfil the hunger of Saint Germain fans (and those who love the Verve Remixed series).
