Archive time again.  If you are Australian, it is highly likely that you will know these tunes from a few years back by Gotye.  However, we reckon that the rest of the world getting into Gotye’s current smash ‘Somebody I Used To Know’ might not be familiar with this old classic track ‘Hearts A Mess’ and quite stunning video.

Funnily enough, Kimbra (who sings with Gotye on the new track) did a cover of ‘Hearts A Mess’ that someone caught on camera when she sang it live.

If you also go back to around the same time as Gotye’s solo career was taking off when he picked up his first ARIA Award, he was also in a band called The Basics.  We caught these guys playing live a few times in their Beatles style outfits and they were quite awesome and snapped up all of their material at the time.  In fact, watching the archive videos below really brings back the joys of when we first saw these guys in action.
