SXSW in Austin is fast approaching and there are an absolute abundance of great artists playing this fine festival. There are quite a few big names playing too, including Kasabian, Keane, Kaiser Chiefs, Bruce Springsteen, Norah Jones, Counting Crows and many more….
However, we thought we’d put a mini mix tape together with a difference by focusing on the up and coming bands that you might not have heard of yet but you should definitely be acquainted with. You know….all that Your Music Radar type stuff we think you should hear.
You may know some, none or all. Either way, we reckon these blissful beats in a mixtape are pretty special. We cannot believe it is going to be SXSW soon. We could’ve done a mixtape that lasted for hours but we thought, hey, what’s on our playlists at the moment.
The mixtape includes the following artists and tracks that are our favourites at the moment:
- Grimes – Genesis
- Silver Swans – Secrets
- Emma-Louise – Jungle
- Matt Corby – Brother
- Class Actress – Keep You
- Lights – Where The Fence Is Low
- Niki & The Dove – Sundog
- fun. – All The Pretty Girls
- Fred Falke – 808pm At The Beach
- Widowspeak – Gun Shy
- Wynter Gordon – Til Death (Denzal Park Edit)
- Kimbra – Cameo Lover
Watch out over the coming weeks for plenty of live reviews, album reviews and interviews with artists and bands playing SXSW. In the meantime, check out our mini mixtape here.
