Betty Who’s massive track ‘Somebody Loves You’ gets an Alexis remix premiere on YMR and this delectable delight from is brimming over with an indulgence of electronic pop that we cannot get enough of.
There’s a few reasons why Betty Who is on our YMR Watchlist for 2014. Firstly, she is an up and comer that you should be getting a load of right now. Secondly, she has a knack of writing tracks that get under your skin and make you hungry for more. The original mix of ‘Somebody Loves You’ pulls out all the stops for and goes for a classic Whitney 80’s feel. The remix from Alexis tones it down a little but doesn’t let the track stray from St. Elmo’s fire territory. It still hooks you in for sure.
Here’s what the duo Alexis had to say on the track:
We were in love with “Somebody Loves You” from the moment we heard it. Our first instinct was to focus on the more emotional side of the words and to try and emphasize that musically. We feel we’ve done that and more by still keeping it dancey and energetic, yet allowing the moody overtones to stand out. The peak for us is the half time bridge and Betty’s beautiful high D note. Perfection!
I would put a lot of my chips on Betty Who having a stellar SXSW this year and getting a gig at Perez Hilton’s One Night In Austin lineup in March . After that, 2014 is set to be a ripper. Watch this space folks!
