Dave Edwards kills it again with this remix of ‘Runaway (U & I)’ taking Galantis to another dimension.
So if I had to make a list of my top 5 tracks for 2014, I’m pretty sure Runaway would be 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Galantis are out of this world talented producers, and they bring something so new and organic to the EDM scene that is totally unique and very much needed.
I loved everything about the original from the first time I heard it…the formant adjusted vocals, the super mellow breakdowns that flow into massive drops, the unusual chord progression, the weird animal noises or whatever’s going on in the breaks…all of it. “I see a billion dollars in your eyes” also gets my vote for vocal line of the year, it’s everything a brilliant pop vocal should be – simple and relatable but also beyond the grasp of anyone not supremely talented to put into a few words.
